Asthma Clinics

Asthma Clinics are run by our practice nurses and appointments are available on request.

If you are asthmatic it is advisable to have an annual review of your medication and management. It is also recommended you have an annual influenza vaccination. We normally start vaccinated patients in September/October each year.

 

Respiratory Clinics

Respiratory Clinics are run by our practice nurses and appointments are available on request. If you have a chronic respiratory condition it is advisable to have a review of your medication and management at least every 12 months.

It is also recommended you have an annual influenza vaccination. We normally start vaccinated patients in September/October each year.

 

Diabetes Clinics

Diabetes Clinics are run by our practice nurses and appointments are available on request. If you have Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus  it is advisable to have a review of your medication and management at least every 6 months.
You will also undergo annual diabetic eye screening which is organised through the national programme.

It is also recommended you have an annual influenza vaccination. We normally start vaccinated patients in September/October each year.

 

Women’s Health Clinics

Women’s Health Clinics are run by our practice nurses and appointments are available on request.

  • Cervical Screening - The NHS Cervical Screening Programme invites all women from the age of 25 to 64 to attend cervical screening.Women aged 25 to 49 are offered screening every 3 years and those aged 50 to 64 are offered screening every 5 years.
  • Breast Screening - Breast screening is currently offered to women aged 50 to 70 in England. You will be contacted directly by the Breast Screening Unit at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital to attend for screening between your 50th and 53rd birthday.You may be eligible for breast screening before the age of 50 if you have a very high risk of developing breast cancer.

If you’re over the age of 70, you’ll stop receiving screening invitations.

You can still have screening after 70 if you want to, and can arrange an appointment by contacting your local screening unit or GP.

 

Contraception

We provide a wide range of contraceptive services at the surgery.

If you are wishing to discuss your contraceptive options please book a routine appointment with one of our GPs. If you wish to consider any form of long acting contraception including the contraceptive injection, implant or intrauterine devices (coils) please book an assessment appointment with one of our GPs. We will then be able to arrange an appropriate appointment.

 

Child Health Clinics

Child Health Clinics are run by our GPs and practice nurses and appointments are available on request.

We provide new baby health checks and have support from the health visitor service.

We also provide the full childhood immunisations in line with the current NHS schedule.

 

Antenatal Care

We provide antenatal care throughout your pregnancy and work closely with the community midwifery team.

Online self-referral form for Pregnant women 

From the 9th of December 2024. There is a brand new online self-referral form for pregnant women in Sheffield. The purpose of this new process is to create a single streamlined and efficient way that allows women to refer themselves directly for antenatal care. You will be booked directly in with a midwife without needing to see a GP first. 
The community midwives run clinics weekly at both Broomhill & Lodge Moor Surgeries.

Physiotherapy

We have a first contact physiotherapy service at the surgery. If you have a muscular or joint issue you can book in directly without the need to see a GP first. The physiotherapist can diagnose, investigate, treat and manage a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.

Non-NHS Services

The NHS provides healthcare for those who are ill, or may be ill, and to prevent ill health. Sometimes an employer or another agency may suggest you “get a note from your doctor” for another purpose, but this is not always possible and will usually require payment as the NHS does not pay GPs to do this work.

Travel Vaccinations

If you're planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world.
