Urgent Appointment

For urgent appointments we have a number of book on the day appointments available across the week. 

These become available from 8am each day.

Broomhill & Lodge Moor Surgery Telephone Lines are open

8:00am until 6:30pm Monday to Fridays (Excluding Bank Holidays)

Our current system enables your call to be answered by our reception team across both surgeries no matter which of the practice numbers you use. This is with the aim of improving patient telephone access, reduce waiting times and also has an improved call management functionality.

When booking your appointment our receptionists may ask you for a brief overview of the reason you require the appointment. 

This is to ensure that you are given an appointment with the most appropriate clinician to deal with your query.

Routine Appointment

To request a routine appointment:

  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

To cancel your appointment:

  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • use the AirMidApp

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or Call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

We carry out home visits for our housebound patients on request. 

In order to ensure we can visit you on the same day as your visit request we ask that you contact the surgery before 11am

WE WILL ONLY TAKE VISIT REQUESTS BY TELEPHONE – PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL THE PRACTICE OR USE THE ONLINE CONTACT REQUEST

We have an Emergency Care Practitioner who is also available to visit if needed.

WE WILL ONLY VISIT PATIENTS WHO ARE HOUSEBOUND

WE ASK WHERE POSSIBLE THAT PATIENTS ATTEND APPOINTMENTS AT THE SURGERY IF THEY ARE ABLE. 

Contact Us Online to Make a Request

We are pleased to offer an online platform for our patients to contact the practice with non-urgent medical or administrative requests. All queries will be reviewed by one of our team within 5 working days. We will only respond to requests within our core working hours.
The service will be unavailable when the surgery is closed (This includes weekends and Bank Holidays)

  • Do not use this service if you need a book on the day appointment or home visit – please contact the surgery by telephone
  • Do not use this service to request your prescription medication – continue to use our online prescription request service
  • Do not use this service to chase hospital appointments or test results carried out by the hospital – please contact your hospital specialist directly for these requests
  • Do not submit any information that you are not willing to appear in your primary care records as all requests will be saved into your records along with our response.

When submitting a request please remember to answer the questions as thoroughly as possible. This will enable our clinicians and clerical team to respond to your request appropriately.
